Note on the Alleged Arabic Manuscript of the Life of Adam
Alin Suciu
Argues that the 15th-cent. (paleographically dated) bifolia MS: Hamburg, Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, Frag. copt. Suppl. 26 preserves not an Arabic version of the Life of Adam and Eve, but rather the Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan. Further, this version appears to come from a textual family different from that of MS: Vatican, Biblioteca apostolica vaticana, Ar. 129, the primary witness for Battista's edition of the text.
